I gazed at the city, for a little too longer
Before I left it behind and before I began to slumber.
I woke up, hoping for one more chance to look beyond.
The view had already shattered and haze grew stronger.

I opened my eyes and bags at a familiar place
Collected the nostalgia and kept it in a safe.
Little did I know, nostalgia was all it contained,
Now I was left with nothing but an empty space.

Gradually then after, my arms grew strong,
But I still woke up for a chance to look back to where I belong.
Now my arms could carry more than just nostalgia,
Sanity, aim and vision also walked along.

The more I halted, the more I learnt
Considered myself as a voyager who was planning her return
A voyager who was always excited for tomorrows
A voyager who always waited for tables to turn.

I was then steady and unleashed the packed nostalgia
But a little of me hesitated to move.
Bags became heavy, something I can remove?
Took out a little nostalgia turned it as my wheels.
As there was a destination where I must flee!

Poem Digest.

These lines travel back to those quarantine times, when author thinks of her good old college days. Memorizing the dusks and dawns that taught her life. She is wanting to mention her gratitude towards the city from where she brought along a lot of life lessons. In the first stanza, she writes about how she was gazing at the city from the bus, leaving it all behind and how the view slowly fades as she begins to fall asleep.

In the second stanza, she mentions about her β€œHome” when she’s finally back from her city. It can be read how she is already missing that place. By bag, she means her heart that contained nothing but nostalgia for her moments back there.

She’s moving on with her life thereafter but stanza three still tells us how she kept finding chances for visiting that place again. She wants to tell the readers how she has progressed all along and how that place has helped her be that way.

She considers herself a traveler who is meant to go on so as to learn. Stanza four tells us how she is already ready to prepare for her another voyage.

In the final stanza, she revisits her nostalgia for her beloved city. She is reminded of how it was difficult at first to fit herself in that place. This thought drags her down and she ponders about what to do next. She considers that nostalgia as a boost up for her as she refers to it as her wheels. She is again prepared and encouraged for hence another voyage standing right in front of her.
